VR 360° Video Meetup Munich #6

VR 360° Video Meetup Munich is back for the new year.

Last year was a good year for VR and 360° Video. 2017 promises to be even more interesting as a lot of new software and cameras will take the pain out of the 360° production process. With the 360° Video Meetup we will keep you in touch with the community and with what is happening on this fast changing market.

We are glad to have Kevin Schmutzler presenting at the Meetup

Kevin Schmutzler co-founded FilmCrew, a young production company looking forward to capture stories that tend to move more than just pixel on a screen. After several commercial productions in 360° he took the challenge of creating the VR experience ‚Crossing Borders‘. Meant as a strictly narrated documentary in the beginning, CB turned, due to many lessons learned during the production process, more and more into an immersive experience that is structured around the 360-video content. In his following master thesis Kevin analyzed how certain “magnets” they had used in the shoot are able or not to guide the viewers gaze and whether there are remarkable differences between visual and auditory magnets.

We will take a look at the new Nikon Keymission in action

You can check out what Google Daydream can do…

and if we are lucky and the cameras are delivered on time we can show off our new synched rig based on the Xiaomi Yi 4k cameras.

We are happy to announce that at our next VR 360° Meetup on Thursday, 2.2.2017, 19 h, we will have 20 Gear VR devices at the venue for our visitors to view various contents. You can take a look at the VR experience ‚Crossing Borders‘ of our speaker Kevin Schmutzler and his production company FilmCrew. Of course, we have some 360° videos of our agency and sponsor Design4real, as well. If you are a 360° video creator and you want your work to be shown on the GearVR devices at the Meetup, please contact me.

As always, there will be time to have a chat with like-minded people and for networking. So, see you at the meetup!

Cheers Clarence
