from clunky all-in-one VR headsets towards lighter wearables with an external battery \/ compute puck. <strong data-start=\"193\" data-end=\"222\">not officially confirmed<\/strong>.<\/strong> Everything we know about a possible postponement or cancellation of the <strong data-start=\"293\" data-end=\"304\">Quest 4<\/strong> comes from leaks, analyst notes and media reports. At the same time, the Quest store grew to around <strong data-start=\"1110\" data-end=\"1125\">3 billion US-$<\/strong> Lifetime sales, but each hardware unit remains subsidized.\u00a0<\/p><p data-start=\"1234\" data-end=\"1625\">Although the Quest 3 is flatter and sharper than the Quest 2, it only sold around <strong data-start=\"1351\" data-end=\"1367\">1 million units<\/strong> - a fraction of the Quest 2 high-altitude flight.  The <a href=\"https:\/\/design4real.de\/en\/quest-3s-vs-quest-3\/\"><strong data-start=\"1451\" data-end=\"1464\">Quest 3 S<\/strong><\/a> did not generate a surge in demand for the 2024 Christmas season despite its 299-dollar price - app downloads even fell by 27 %.<\/p><p data-start=\"1627\" data-end=\"1977\">There is a structural problem behind this: the global smartphone replacement cycle is currently around <strong data-start=\"1731\" data-end=\"1745\">3.6 years<\/strong>According to retailer data, it already tends to be four to five years for VR headsets.
